Sheep and Lambs

We have been breeding Wiltshire Horn sheep for five years now and supply lamb for food and ewes and rams for breeding.  The Wiltshire Horn is a breed of domestic sheep, unusual amongst native British breeds, for it has the unusual feature of moulting its short wool and hair coat naturally in spring, alleviating the need for shearing.

The Wiltshire Horn was, until the 18th century, one of southern England's predominant sheep breeds.  However, the rising price of wool and a general move away from horned sheep saw the breed suffer a dramatic decline throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.

It was nearly extinct at the start of the 1900s and until recently was placed on the list of rare and threatened breeds.  However, there are now 300 recognised flocks in the UK and the breed is now thriving.

If you would like to order lamb for your freezer then we sell meat in half lamb portions (£80) per half and this is generally available in May of each year.

Please get in touch if you would like to buy young sheep ewes and rams for breeding yourself.  We also have a beautiful 18 month old ram which we are looking to SWAP with a similar ram.
